Alyssa Polosky

Head Coach

Alyssa Polosky '11 enters her first season as head women's basketball coach in 2018-19. The former Knights' All-American takes the reins after serving as an assistant coach with the program for seven seasons.

During Polosky's tenure as an assistant coach, Geneseo enjoyed six 20-win seasons, including a program record 28-2 mark in 2016-17, two SUNYAC Championships and a pair of trips to the "Sweet 16" in four total NCAA Tournament appearances.

Polosky helped mentor three All-Americans, including first-team selection Shannon McGinnis '16 who became the first player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career rebounds (1,011) while also finishing third with 1,473 career points. Allison McKenna '16 and McKenna Brooks '19 also copped Honorable Mention All-America in 2016 and 2018, respectively, under Polosky's guidance.

Polosky capped her playing career with Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2011 after captaining the Knights to a SUNYAC Championship. Also tabbed a first-team All-SUNYAC and second-team All-ECAC honoree, Polosky set a program record with 106 career blocked shots during her two year stint in Blue and White.

Polosky earned a degree in elementary and special education from Geneseo after completing an associate's degree in liberal arts with a concentration in elementary education from SUNY Broome in 2010.

Polosky also finished a master's degree in education at Geneseo in 2014 while serving as a high school and middle school reading specialist in the nearby Avon Central School district.

A native of Endicott, N.Y., Polosky currently resides in Rochester, N.Y.
